Fa La La La La La

Happy happy, merry merry! That's how I feel right now. Along with anxious and a lil stressed from doing some last minute shopping for the dinner party at Megan's tonight.

I can't wait for tonight. There's going to be a lot people coming, food availability is sketchy (especially cuz it's potluck and poor Dev is outdoing himself this year) and there's gonna be so much booze flowing, I am nervous as to how we will behave at Casa Meg's. However, I'm looking forward to having everyone, that isn't in my immediate family ('cept Mel), that I love so dearly under one rambunctious roof.

This year's Christmas dinner was supposed to be potluck (which was a last-minute decision) so I only decided this morning what I would make/bring. Man, I really wish I had thought about it a lot earlier. Like a week earlier, then I wouldn't have been driving all over Mississauga and parts of Etobicoke to find what I needed. Bah. I barely made by and I'll just have to make do.

Anyway, something is burning, so I'm going to check on it. Ciao.

Unbecoming

I am usually annoyed by this time of year. Being a Scrooge this time of year is my thing. I'm not in the best mood at this point of the season: The rush to spend obscene amounts of money (on me). Trampling children in the mall. Shoveling that white crap on my driveway. The Christmas music. Oh, god, I think the Christmas music is the worst.

I used to be frustrated because this time is exam time, but now it's more frustrating that I'm not in exam time and others are. I am disabled from seeing the people I want to see/talk with because they've got other things to do.

However, as of recent state, all those annoying things have seemed to have dissipated (for now) in comparison to the things that I should be (and what most people are) looking forward to this season: the get-togethers, the parties, the ski trips, friends, family and lovers (fingers crossed).

I can't wait for the trip to Vermont in one and a half weeks. I can't wait to see the looks on those Americans when they find out we're from Canada (or the fact that we're Asian). The 8-hour drive is gonna be trying, but I believe I've gone through worse with these people (*ahem* The Road Trip With All the Fighting: to and from white-water rafting).

I haven't really decided what I'm doing for New Years, but I'm sure it won't be anything spectacular since I'll be back the day before New Years Eve. I'm also looking at this trip as an opportunity for an outlet to leave the bad and the worst of '07 behind before I come back to Canada and begin a new year of more bad, worst, and hopefully good and great. Am I making sense? No? Perhaps it'll make more sense when I come back.

Hellooooo, Lover!

I hope my hard work of avoiding seeing pictures of the filming of the movie all over NYC will pay off by then.

LaCroix, sweetie, LaCroix

My week just got better: I bought Seasons 1-3 of the TV show Absolutely Fabulous. Music World in Square One is closing down and since I walk by there just about every-bloody-day, I had to go in and see what I could scoop up.

Not much in terms of 'steals', I must say. Mostly just 20% off everything in the store. I wonder when their absolute last day is because I'll have to go in there and scoop up some old Tupac and Biggie CDs or something when they're dirt cheap. Today, however, I browsed the DVD section and found the last copy of Seasons 1-3 of AbFab. Ooooh, I haven't watched an episode in a long while and this show is such a classic.

I'll have to dedicate one of these weekends to an AbFab marathon. Everyone is welcome to join me but I'm not gonna force people to watch it. British humour, let alone high fashion humour, goes over a lot of people's heads. You just have to really get into Eddie and Patsy's world to understand them.

Mmm, I love me some Jennifer Saunders. Eddie: [shouting] I DON'T WANT MORE CHOICE, I JUST WANT NICER THINGS.

The High Before the Storm

My mom's the best. She just brought me some roasted chestnuts. It's perfect because it's like a fuckin' snow bomb exploded out there. Although, I did have to endure the 'snow bomb' very early today, I'm still not willing to set foot outside just yet.

However, it does look like my trip to Vermont is coming together. No, hotels and people haven't been reserved and confirmed, but the snow has RSVP'd and that is A-OK.

On Friday a bunch of us celebrated Sarah's birthday, one week late, but nonetheless we celebrated. Right after work, I raced home, changed and got the girls to go get some steak (sans me) at The Keg. After The Keg, we went to LaserQuest, which was such a Sarah thing to do. It also reminded me of how much I hate this game because I absolutely suck. I ended up teaming up with Justin to decrease some of my sucking and it made it a lil more fun.

^MOeeeeeeeT!

^The Flossy Flossy

I thought I would have a myriad of things to do last night: clubbing downtown, clubbing in Mississauga, Poker, movies... and then one by one, those options dropped like canaries in a carbon monoxide-filled coal mine. Stupid of me to ever think either of those options would pull through, huh? Ugh. However, I refused to stay at home on a Saturday night despite a pending snowstorm. And then, at the last minute, I pulled a bunch of guys together to go to West 50 out of the blue. Am I ballin', or am I ballin'? We're not even the types to go out drinking and stuff, especially with the amount of drinkers and limited amount of cars and DDs. However, we were there until they closed the place down, so that goes to show either how much fun we were having, how drunk we were, or how long it took for our waitress to bring us our [hefty] bill.

After West 50, two cars full of semi-drunk guys and Cuong tentatively drove home, while I ditched and hooked up with another group of guy friends who happened to be around the corner. Well I didn't ditch per se, it was just easier to go home with them because they live closer to me. We chilled at Amine's where the guys were still a lil too drunk and energized from the club and things got a lil nuts (let's just say there was broken glass involved). We then made the ridiculous trek home through a fuckin' blizzard in a car with no winter shoes. Luckily we got home safe with nothing more than a pair of ruined Uggs (mine!). I'm so glad I made that extra effort to go out last night, because I would have been stuck at home both last night and today. That would have driven me absolutely bonkers. However, I think this winter I'm gonna be homebound more often because who the fuck wants to be out in this thing without a board? And since I'm so fantastically bored, a bombardment of pictures from last night (from two cameras WHEW):
